Mounting

We decided that our first post would be about something that teachers would find very useful in their profession: how to mount paper to make a makeshift white board!

The materials you need are scotch tape (try not to have the yellowish tinge, buy the clear ones), scissors, and the material you want to mount--in this case we'll show you how to mount a piece of white bond paper.

It's really simple: just stick the tape on the paper. Overlap the strips of tape a bit and be careful not to crease or create "bubbles" as you stick it on.

The occasional crease is okay, it happens, and you'll find your own technique through practice.

Leave a bit of excess tape at the sides to stick on the table. It makes your job easier because the paper won't lift up and stick to the strip of tape. It's your choice if you want to cut it off or fold it over when you're finished. Continue sticking the strips of tape until you've covered the whole paper. And you're done!

We mounted other papers with different colors, doing the front and back.

An easy way to create your own whiteboard. Just use a tissue paper (or even your finger) to erase  the whiteboard marker ink. If you've left the ink on your mounted paper for a long time, some alcohol can help get the ink out.

Because of the new shiny surface, you can use masking tape to stick on other things, and it comes off easily!
Here's a drawing that was already mounted before. We used whiteboard marker to draw in the eyes, eyebrows and mouth of the woman, then stuck her on the mounted white paper with masking tape.
